Over the weekend, Kevin Turen, a producer involved in “Euphoria,” “The Idol,” and Ti West’s “X” trilogy, passed away. He was 44 years old. The reason for the passing remains uncertain.

The parent company, Penske Media Corporation’s CEO, Penske, was a close friend of Turen, and a statement was issued upon his passing. Penske remarked, “Even with Turen’s many achievements in Hollywood, his utmost dedication was to his family and friends.” “He took immense pride in his children. Turen gained recognition for his collaboration with Sam Levinson and Ashley Levinson, as they jointly established Little Lamb Productions in 2018. One of their most famous projects is HBO’s “Euphoria,” a critically acclaimed drama series about a young woman (Zendaya) dealing with the challenges of drug addiction, praised for its compelling plot and stylized aesthetics.

Kevin also worked on “The Idol,” another HBO series created by Sam Levinson, revolving around a pop star (Lily Rose Depp) and her relationship with a cult leader (Abel Tesfaye). He was also involved in the production of Levinson’s movie “Assassination Nation.”

Kevin Turen: From NYC Birth to Hollywood Triumphs

On August 16, 1979, Turen was born in New York City. He obtained his education at Columbia University, earning a degree in English and Critical Film Studies. He started his career as a creative executive at First Look Studios, climbing the ladder to become the President of Production, significantly elevating the company’s profile. Some of his early acquisitions and releases included films like “The Proposition,” “The Dead Girl,” and “An American Crime.”

He worked with Infinity Media, Tree House Pictures, and triumphed as the President of Production at Phantom Four before becoming a founding partner at Little Lamb.

His wife Evelina and their two children are the surviving family members of Turen.
