GVA’s Halloween Mass Shooting Report

According to the GVA’s(Gun Violence Archive) data, in the final week leading up to Halloween, there were several instances of deadly mass shootings in multiple American cities, resulting in at least 11 fatalities and 76 others wounded.

Between Friday and Sunday, 12 major shootings occurred. The Gun Violence Archive (GVA) defines a major shooting as an incident in which at least four individuals are either injured or killed, excluding the shooter.

Many of these shooting incidents, as reported by GVA occurred during large gatherings in the early hours of the weekend. This uptick in large-scale shootings towards the end of the week coincided with a somber period for the country as it mourned the victims of the deadliest mass shooting of the year, which occurred a few days earlier in Houston, Texas, where 18 people lost their lives.

Investigations into the shootings in Texas, Indiana, Florida, Illinois, and Georgia have provided us with some information. GVA also provided a list of major shootings in Kansas, Maryland, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Ohio.
